86%的人星座要改了？NASA：没有的事！

上周四（9月15日），Cosmopolitan杂志网站上的一篇文章吓坏了不少人，因为它说，很多人都把自己的星座给搞错了……

Cosmopolitan说，NASA指出星座日期应该重新划分，世界上86%的人的星座将因此发生变化。不仅如此，星座不是12个，而是13个！

看到这则消息，全世界那些找对象看星座、求职看星座、考试看星座，甚至出门穿什么衣服都要看看星座运势的宝宝们哭晕在厕所了……

来看看Cosmopolitan的报道是怎么说的：

NASA have decided to update the astrological signs for the first time in 2,000 years, meaning that a whopping 86% of us now have a different sign.

NASA决定重新划分星座，这还是两千多年来头一遭，这意味着86%的人现在有新的星座了。

If you want to get all technical about it, the reason for this radical change is down to the fact that the sky today is extremely different to how it was thousands of years ago, which makes sense.

如果你想得到一个科学专业的解释，这场星座巨变的原因是现今的天象已经和数千年前的天象千差万别。这不难理解。

And because Earth's axis no longer points in the same direction, our astrological signs are about a month out.

同时，由于地轴所指的方向出现了变动，十二星座的位置比以前大致提前了一个月。

Ancient astrologers decided to ditch this particular constellation at the time in order for the 12 other signs to divide equally around the sun.

But now we guess it's back in the game, and so if you were born between the 29th of November and the 17th December... well, congrats on that.

这则消息很快引发了其他媒体的跟风报道，比如雅虎新闻就说“因为NASA，你的星座变了”，并且表示“我们大多数人马上就会有身份认同危机了（the majority of us are about to experience a total identity crisis）”。

《镜报》(The Mirror)就调皮了下说，早上通勤的时候，你翻看报纸的星象部分（horoscopes section），说你会有桃花运（have a romantic encounter），于是你就花痴呀花痴，然而并没有遇到什么心仪的人，于是你很失望。不过你失望也很正常，因为你很可能→→一直都把星座给搞错了……

不过，就在人们讨论得不可开交的时候，一向高冷的NASA出来了，说：

Did you recently hear that NASA changed the zodiac signs? Nope, we definitely didn’t…

最近你是不是听说NASA把星座给改了？压根就没有的事儿……

…Here at NASA, we study astronomy, not astrology. We didn’t change any zodiac signs, we just did the math.

我们NASA只研究天文学，不研究占星术。我们没有改星座，我们只是做了计算。

天文学和占星术有什么区别呢？NASA是这样解释的：

Astronomy is the scientific study of everything in outer space. Astronomers and other scientists know that stars many light years away have no effect on the ordinary activities of humans on Earth.

天文学是研究外太空万事万物的一门科学。天文学家和其他科学家认为许多光年之外的恒星并不会给地球上人类的日常活动带来影响。

Astrology is something else. It’s not science. No one has shown that astrology can be used to predict the future or describe what people are like based on their birth dates.

占星术是另外一回事儿。占星术不是科学。并没有人能证明占星术能预测未来，或者根据人们的出生日期能推断出他们的品性。

那到底发生了什么呢……Cosmopolitan不是说是NASA说的吗？？

原来，NASA今年1月份（你没看错，今年1月份……）在面向儿童的网站Space Place上发表了一篇介绍星座和历法的文章。而正是这篇文章在8个月以后被Cosmopolitan掘出，然后经过层层传播，整了个大新闻……

NASA的这篇文章说，生活在约3000年前的古巴比伦人认为星座的移动或许会对地球上的事件产生影响。而我们今天所熟知的黄道十二宫正是以他们使用的历法为基础的。不过斗转星移，与古巴比伦时期相比，当今恒星的位置发生了变化。当然，文章还提到了被遗漏的蛇夫座。

所以说了这么多，星座到底是变了还是没有变呢？？！！听听《卫报》（The Guardian) 给予的解答：

The fact about 86 per cent of people have a different sign than they thought is true. It is the result of a process called precession, where the Earth behaves like a spinning top, which takes 26,000 years and has at the moment moved the zodiac by about a month.

86%的人属于与他们所认为的不同的星座，这是事实。这是由于岁差引起的。地球就像一个旋转的陀螺，经过2.6万年，现今黄道的位置比以前提前了一个月。

And the fact about the missing Ophiuchus, the 13th sign, is true too. It is thought that ancient astrologers might have left out the sign to neatly divide up the 360-degree path of the sun into 12 neat parts, each making up 30-degrees.

此前被忽略的第十三个星座——蛇夫座，也是确实存在的。古代的占星家们很可能为了将360度的黄道平分成12部分，使每个星座占整30度而故意忽略了蛇夫座。

But modern astrology is its own thing, and acts by its own rules. It doesn’t really matter whether the star signs change as long as everyone still reads their old one, and astrologers still write about them the same way.

但是现代的占星术自成一家，有着自己的规则。只要人们还信奉之前的星座，占卜家们仍然按之前的星座解读，那么星座改不改就并不重要了。
